There are various methods to test the Density of Coatings, and the laboratory currently uses the 100ml Specific Gravity Cup test method
Density test inspection standard
Density
ASTM D1475 (2008) -98 (Specific Gravity Bottle Method)
GB/T 6750-2007 (Specific Gravity Bottle Method)
BS 3900-A19-1998 (Specific Gravity Bottle Method)
ISO 2811-1:1997 (Specific Gravity Bottle Method)
Density calculation formula
Density: The amount of substance contained in a unit volume, expressed in g/ml
P = (m2-m1)/V
In the formula:
M2 = total weight of cup and pattern (g)
M1 = empty cup weight (g)
V = volume of cup (mm)
1. Use solvent to clean the Specific Gravity Cup, weigh out the completely clean and drying Specific Gravity Cup (all components), and write down the weight. The difference between the two weighings should not exceed 0.02g.
2. Weigh the Specific Gravity Cup and its lid: M1
3. Inject the pattern into the cylinder (almost full). Confirm that the experimental temperature is correct. Cover the lid to avoid bubbles and weigh M2
4. Coating weight (Density) = (M2-M1)/100 (unit: g/ml)
