How to measure the wear resistance of coating powder film?

Regarding the determination of the wear resistance of the powder coating film, the rolling wear Tester is mainly used to measure the mass lost by the coating film after a specified number of grinding cycles under a certain load, expressed in mg.

(l) Instruments and equipment 

GM-II Rolling Wear Tester. (Abrasion Tester)

Analytical balance: a sense of 0.00lg.

(2) Sample 

See Table 6-2.

The diameter of the steel plate is 90mm, there is a small hole of S8mm in the center, and the thickness of the steel plate is 2mm.

(3) Test method  

Fix the sample on the turntable of the wear Tester, add , gently put down the pressure tube, put down the suction nozzle, and adjust it to 1~1.5mm away from the sample , Turn on the main switch, vacuum switch, and turntable switch in turn, grind the sample for 5° to form a relatively flat surface, turn off the power, take out the sample, gently wipe off the floating debris with a brush, and weigh it.

The technical product standard stipulates that the number of grinding revolutions and the weight should be subtracted. When the specified number of grinding revolutions is reached , stop immediately, take out the sample, wipe off the scum, and weigh it.

The test is carried out under the conditions of (23±2)°C and relative humidity of 50%±1%.

Parallel test 2 times, the error between each measured value and the arithmetic mean value shall not be greater than 7%, and the results shall be taken as the mean value.
