The inspection of coating thickness is generally divided into two types of inspection methods: average coating thickness and local thickness. Since the local thickness can better reflect the quality of the product in practical applications than the average thickness, the local thickness or local average thickness of the coating is measured in most cases. There are two types of coating thickness inspection methods: destructive testing method and non-destructive testing method (nondestructive testing method). There are many kinds of destructive detection methods, such as spot cleaning method, liquid flow method, chemical dissolution method, electric quantity method (coulomb method), metallographic microscope method, contour method and interference microscope method, etc., and magnetic method, eddy current method, etc. method, X-ray fluorescence thickness measurement, β-ray backscattering method, light section microscopy and energy spectroscopy, etc. The destructive thickness measurement method is generally suitable for non-precious painted parts or products processed by a large number of painted parts.
