Coating heat resistance inspection

(1) As shown in Figure 11_7_8, spray the required inspection on a steel plate with a thickness of 1mm, and the coating thickness is 0.2~0.4mm. Then heat the coated steel plate with an oxygen-bright flame, measure the time required to burn through the coating and the steel plate, and use this to evaluate and compare the heat resistance of the coating. This test actually uses the melting point and thermal life of the coating material to measure the heat resistance of the coating. (Related instruments: thermometer paper)

(2) In addition to the above method, the heat resistance of the coating can also be evaluated by testing the coating's resistance to high temperature air oxidation.

First, the oxidation resistance of the coating itself can be determined. Take the coating peeled off from the base material as the sample, clean it up and weigh it, put it in the heating furnace, keep it warm for 1~2 hours, take the sample out of the furnace, cool it at room temperature and weigh it. Heavy. Repeat the test to obtain the change curve of the sample weight with the test time, and visually check the oxidation of the coating. Secondly, the protective performance of the coating on the high temperature oxidation of the substrate can be determined. Take the substrate sprayed with a certain thickness of coating as a sample, weigh it and put it into a heated air furnace (furnace temperature 1000~1300°C), regularly observe the state of the sample in the furnace, if the coating is damaged, record time and end the test, if the coating is not damaged after 24 hours, take the sample out of the furnace and cool it at room temperature, if the coating is still intact after cooling, weigh the sample and put it into the furnace And repeat the above test. Until the coating is damaged, cut the sample after the test to check the oxidation of the base material, and compare and evaluate the protection performance of the coating against the high-temperature oxidation of the base according to the time and weight loss of the sample. The high temperature oxidation ability and the protection ability to the substrate high temperature oxidation can comprehensively evaluate the heat resistance of the coating.
