Film thickness determination of films with TJIKN instrument

The TJIKN instrument (Fig. 99) is an indicator gauge with a Graduation of 0.01 mm well equipped with an accessory for measuring paint film thickness. This attachment consists of a plate 2 and two legs 3 which are 2mm shorter than the Thickness Gauge of the gauge. The Thickness Gauges of the indicator are all on one plane.

Before measuring the thickness of the paint film, the instrument should be adjusted to zero. For this purpose, the instrument must be placed on the glass brick, so that its feet are closely attached to the broken glass, and then the pointer of the indicator 1 is adjusted to the measurement by means of the adjustment screw 4. On the zero degree of 5, thereafter, it is selected on the coating film to be tested. (Related instruments: paint Film Thickness Gauge)

Use TJIKN instrument to measure the thickness of the coating film with Figure 1

Several parts to be measured (with a diameter of 5-6 mm) are drawn out with a soft drawing pen, and the outrigger 3 of the instrument should be adjusted as follows: Make the Thickness Gauge coincide with the center of the circle drawn by the pin pen, and write down the diameter of the instrument. Then, from the part drawn by the pencil, remove the film with a solvent or scrape it off with a razor, and adjust the instrument according to the above method, and then re-record the position of the pointer. The thickness of the paint film can be connected to the film The difference between the indicator pointer before and after removing the film is measured, and the accuracy of the measurement can reach 0.006 mm.
