Therefore, accurate determination of the viscosity of Coatings is crucial for production and quality control. This article will introduce a commonly used method, the Zain Viscosity Cup method, for determining the viscosity of Coatings.

1. Scope and description

The Zahn Viscosity Cup, also known as the Zahn Viscosity Cup, is a tool commonly used for Coating viscosity determination. It has a wide range of applications and can quickly and easily determine the viscosity of Coatings in laboratories and construction sites. The Zahn Cup features that it can be immersed in a test liquid, whether the liquid is hot or cold, and can be used. 3. Determination method

Here are the steps for Zahn Cup to determine Coating viscosity:

First, the liquid to be tested is fully stirred and its temperature is measured.

Hook the small ring on the handle of the Viscosity Cup with your fingers and immerse the cup body in the liquid for 1 to 5 minutes to achieve hot equilibrate.

Then, quickly and smoothly pull the Viscosity Cup vertically out of the liquid, and start timing immediately as soon as the upper edge of the cup body emerges from the liquid level.

During the process of liquid outflow, make sure that the distance of the Viscosity Cup from the liquid surface does not exceed 150 mm. Stop the timer when the first breakpoint occurs in the stable streamer flowing from the small hole in the bottom of the cup.

4. Presentation of results

Measurement results are expressed in time (seconds) for the liquid to flow out. The difference between the two measurements should be less than 5% of the average.

5. Instrument Description

The Zain Viscosity Cup is a bullet-shaped stainless-steelbeaker with corrosion and solvent resistance. There is a precise small hole in the bottom of the cup, while the volume is 44 ml. The Zain Viscosity Cup is available in various models with different pore sizes and can be used for liquids with a measurement range from 5 to 1800mm ²/s. The Zain Viscosity Cup belongs to the outflow type Viscometer, so the measured number of seconds can be calculated by specific constants k and c to calculate the motion viscosity.
