With the development of technology, flat panel displays have become an indispensable part of people's lives. As one of the key components, the transmittance of polarizing film directly affects the display effect and user experience. Therefore, accurately measuring transmittance and evaluating its performance is crucial to ensure the quality of flat panel displays.

What is transmittance?

Transmittance refers to the degree to which light is absorbed, refracted or scattered when passing through an object, usually expressed as a percentage. In flat panel displays, the transmittance determines the brightness and clarity of the screen display, which directly affects the user's viewing experience.

Test Methods

In order to accurately measure the transmittance of flat panel display polarizing films, standardized testing methods need to be followed. First, the instrument is preheated to reach a stable state, and then the sample is placed on the sample test rack for spectral scanning and the monomer transmittance is measured. Then, the parallel transmittance and orthogonal transmittance are repeatedly measured to obtain the transmittance at different light wavelengths. Finally, single-wavelength transmittance and UV isolation performance are measured to obtain complete optical performance data.
