Polyacrylamide is widely used as a thickener in oils, paints, plastics, cosmetics and other fields. Procedure for polyacrylamide viscosity determination

First of all, the preparation phase includes selecting the appropriate rotor (usually rotor No. 4) and ensuring that the equipment is functioning properly, checking that the interface connections are tight. The polyacrylamide sample is then diluted to the appropriate concentration and loaded into the instrument, taking care to avoid air bubbles affecting the test results.Next, set the speed range (0.6 rpm or 1.2 rpm is recommended) and set the necessary parameters such as temperature compensation values. Start the instrument to measure, automatically collect data and display the viscosity value at the current rotational speed. Once you've finished taking a measurement, view the recording or print the results for analysis.Finally, the absolute viscosity or apparent relative viscosity of the sample was calculated based on the measurement data combined with temperature and rotational speed information, and the non-Newtonian behavior of polyacrylamide was verified by comparing the data changes at different concentrations.
