Operation of Pressure Density Cups

This pressure density cup can be filled with a fixed capacity specimen and then pressurized to remove the trapped gas that can lead to false detection. Since air dissolves more easily at high pressure, it has been suggested that. The disappearing trapped air has essentially dissolved into the material to be tested. Any undissolved air bubbles will be compressed to a fraction of their original size. In this case, the true density can be calculated by weighing the pressurized pattern. Therefore, the reproducibility of this test is very good.

How to use the specific gravity cup:

1. Weigh the completely clean, dry cup (all components) and note the weight.

2. Loosen handle A counterclockwise and remove the pressure relief housing.

3. Remove the pressure relief cap B

4. Loosen piston C by loosening handle D counterclockwise, but leave it in the cup

5. Inject the pattern into the cartridge (almost full). Make sure the experimental temperature is correct.

6. Cover the pressure relief cover B, install the pressure relief shell, and press the cover into place. Confirm that the cover is on the center line of the cup body, rotate the handle A clockwise, and screw it straight to the pressure relief position.

7. Let the pressure density cup and pattern rest for 30 minutes to bring the temperature to equilibrium.

8. Grasp the cup tightly and slowly turn handle D clockwise until it is fully depressed, increasing its internal pressure to 10.3 bar. In doing so, the pressure relief housing is pointed away from the user, towards a suitable container to collect whatever is squeezed out.

9. Wash off all extruded patterns and effectively dry the outside of the cup.

10. Re-weigh the cup and note the weight.

11. Subtract the empty cup weight (1) from the full weight (10) and weigh the style (this is the weight of the 100cc ± 0.1cc style)

    Density calculation: P = (m2-m1)/V

    Where: m2 = total weight of cup and pattern (g)

    M1 = empty cup weight (g)

    V = volume of cup (mm)

12. Take the cup completely apart and effectively remove all surfaces before the material dries or hardens.
