Biaozhi GM200 Coating Thickness Gauge operating instructions

Biaozhi GM200 coating Thickness Gauge belongs to (comprehensive metal substrate) Thickness Gauge, it can quickly, non-destructively and accurately measure the thickness of non-metallic (such as paint, film, etc.) coatings on metal substrates.

1. When measuring car paint, you need to pay attention to the following:

(1) What is the material of the substrate?

Such as: (non-metallic) fiberglass, plastic (magnetic) iron (non-magnetic) copper, aluminum

Non-magnetic materials such as: aluminum, copper, gold, silver, tin, lead, zinc, pure stainless steel, etc.

Magnetic material: iron, chromium, nickel, cobalt

(2) Automotive surface coating machines can be identified into two categories:

   1. Metallic paint 2. Resin paint

What is the difference between metallic paint and ordinary paint

Because metallic paint is mixed with metal powder, metallic paint can not only make the surface of the painted sheet metal look shiny and attractive, so the hardness of the paint is increased, the paint surface is hardened, the wear resistance is improved, and it is not easy to be scratched. With metallic paint, the trouble and cost of car repainting and baking are reduced. The use of ordinary paint is mainly in white, black, bright red and yellow cars. After using metallic paint, silver powder is added to the "plain paint" of these colors, and their colors will change. Can't achieve better effect, just the opposite to what one wished, so some vehicles still use ordinary paint.

Metallic paint: Metallic paint cannot be identified by the metal coating machine because it is mixed with metal powder;

Resin paint: Resin paint is a non-metallic coating that can be measured because it has no metal blending.

2. Matters needing attention and calibration method

1. Basic calibration is required when the machine is not used for the first time or for a long time, or every time the metal base material is changed;

2. The minimum diameter of the calibrated metal base block must be above 50mm;

3. The minimum thickness of the metal substrate should not be less than 0.5mm;

4. When the machine is turned on and used, it will automatically shut down after displaying an error code. This is a normal situation, as long as the basic calibration is done.

The calibration method of GM200 coating Thickness Gauge is as follows:

The basic calibration sheet has a total of 7 calibration points, and the unit for calibration is mm.

A. Prepare 6 standard tablets

Standard sheet thickness: 0.04~0.06, 0.09~0.11, 0.22~0.28, 0.45~0.55, 0.90~1.05, 1.90~2.00, unit mm.

B. Press and hold the MODE (up) button first, then press the power button, the LCD will display in full screen, and then you will hear the sound of BI, the LCD will display 0.00, and the character C will be displayed in the lower right corner of the LCD, indicating that you have entered the calibration screen.

C. Press the probe lightly on the uncoated iron base. At this time, the LCD will display 0.00, then BI-BI twice, remove the probe, and the LCD will display a number of about 0.05mm.

D. Carry out the second number calibration, adjust the value displayed on the LCD to be the same as the thickness of the calibration sheet through the calibration data increase key or decrease key, then lightly press the probe on the iron base where the calibration sheet is placed, BI-BI twice , the second calibration point is calibrated.

E. The third data is displayed on the LCD. Calibrate sequentially according to the previous method until the last calibration sheet is calibrated, the LCD will display OVER, and the machine will automatically shut down after two beeps of BI-BI. The basic calibration is completed.

F. After the basic calibration is completed, the thickness of the coating on the same material as the substrate to be calibrated can be measured.
