Rating criteria for cross-cut method

Cross-scratch method is a common method for adhesion rating, and cross-scratch experiments can be graded according to the following criteria

According to the national standard GB/T 9286-1998 "Paint and varnish, paint film draw test" determination

Level 0, the cutting edge is completely smooth, no grid falls off

Level 1, a little coating falls off at the ** fork, but the cross-cutting area cannot be significantly affected by more than 5%

Grade 2, with coating shedding at the ** fork and/or along the edge of the cut, the affected cross-cut area is significantly greater than 5%, but not significantly greater than 15%

Grade 3, the coating is partially or completely peeled off in large fragments along the cutting edge, or peeled off in the upper part or all of different parts of the grid, and the affected cross-cutting area is significantly greater than 15%, but not significantly greater than 35%

Level 4, the coating peels off a large area along the cutting edge, and/or some parts or all peel off, the affected cross-cut area is significantly greater than 35%, but not significantly greater than 65%

Level 5, the degree of peeling exceeds level 4

The usage and operation of the scratcher directly affect the evaluation of the experimental results, please be sure to follow the experimental specifications.
