Application of temperature and humidity standards for condition regulation and testing of Coating specimens

Temperature and Humidity for State Conditioning and Testing of Paint Samples (GB/T9278-88) This standard grade adopts ISO3270-1984 «Temperature and humidity for state conditioning and testing of paints, varnishes and their raw materials».

(1) Main content and general scope

This standard specifies the general conditions of temperature and relative humidity for the conditioning and testing of paints, varnishes and their raw materials.

This standard applies to liquid and powder paints and varnishes. It also applies to their wet or dry films and their raw materials.

(2) Definition

① State conditioning environment: The state conditioning environment is the environment in which the sample or specimen is kept before being tested. It is characterized by the specified values of one or two parameters of temperature and relative humidity. remain within the specified range. The selected parameter values and the length of time depend on the nature of the sample or sample to be tested.

②Test environment: It is the environment exposed to the sample or specimen during the whole test period. It is characterized by the specified value of one parameter or two parameters of temperature and relative humidity, and keeping it within a predetermined range.

(3) Condition adjustment and test temperature and humidity

①Standard environmental conditions (should be used wherever possible) temperature 23℃±2℃, relative humidity 50%±5%.

②The standard temperature is 23℃±2℃, and the relative humidity is the ambient humidity.

(4) State regulation

① Condition adjustment shall also be specified by the specific test method under consideration.

② The relevant parts of the sample and the instrument should be placed in the condition-adjusting environment, so that they can reach parallel with that environment as soon as possible. Samples should be protected from direct sunlight, and the environment should be kept clean.

(5) test

Unless otherwise specified, the specimen shall be tested in the same environment as its conditioning. If the test is carried out using the standard environmental conditions specified in this standard, the test report should be stated (the state is adjusted for one hour under the standard environmental conditions consistent with the surrounding standards, and then the test is carried out).

If the standard environmental conditions stipulated in this standard are not adopted, but other conditions are selected, the test report shall state the conditions adopted.
