Coating Spreader Method One Brush

Brushing is the old and simple traditional coating method. It is a method of manually applying paint with a paintbrush.

(1) Advantages and disadvantages of brushing

1. Advantages

①The tools are simple and adaptable. The tool used for brushing is only a paintbrush, which is suitable for painting all open objects of any shape. The coating is not limited by site conditions, and any part that can be touched by hand can be used for brushing.

② Strong adaptability to coating varieties. All kinds of paints (such as oil-based paints, synthetic resin paints, water-based paints) can be applied by brushing.

③The coating effect is good. Since the paint is easy to wet the surface of the object to be coated and penetrate into the micropores when brushing, it can enhance the adhesion of the coating on the surface to be coated, and it is easy to form a firm and complete coating film.

2. Disadvantages

① Low production efficiency and high labor intensity. Because brushing is manual operation, not only the labor intensity of workers is very high, but also the efficiency of coating is lower than other methods.

② Poor decorative performance. High requirements for workers' skills, if the workers' operating skills are not

If you are skilled, it is difficult to obtain a paint film with uniform thickness and satisfactory decorative effect.

(2) Brushing process

1. Selection of brushing tools

The tools used for brushing are mainly paint brushes. According to the production material, it is divided into hard hair and soft hair. Hard brushes are mostly made of pig bristle, horse mane and oxtail hair, while soft brushes are usually made of goat hair, fox hair or wolf hair. Paint brushes can be divided into flat brushes, round brushes, crooked handle brushes, scrub brushes, row brushes, and flat brushes in terms of shape.

The quality requirements for paint brushes are: the front end of the bristles should be neat, and the bristles should be firmly bonded and not shed. When choosing a paint brush, the different characteristics of the paint used should be considered. For example, when brushing high-viscosity paint such as blended paint and enamel paint, a hard-bristled brush should be used. When brushing low-viscosity paint such as varnish, you can choose a scrub brush with thinner bristles or soft bristles. When brushing water-based paint, soft brushes such as wool scrub brushes and row brushes should be used.

When selecting a brush, the condition of the object to be coated should also be considered. For example, when brushing a flat or curved surface, a flat brush, scrub brush or row brush should be used; when brushing a large area of surface, a paint brush with wide bristles should be used; A narrow bristle brush should be used when brushing small surfaces. When brushing the hidden part of the object to be coated or when the operator is not easy to move its standing position, a paint brush with a long crooked handle should be used; when brushing the rough surface of the object to be coated, a round paint brush with a large amount of paint should be selected, because it Too much lacquer tends to make the paint wet the rough surface and penetrate into the pores. Use a flat brush when painting narrow lines and fine patterns.

2. Matters needing attention in brushing construction

① The viscosity of the paint should be appropriate. If the viscosity of the paint is too low, the formed paint film will be thin and easy to flow, and the hiding power of the colored paint film formed will be low, while if the viscosity of the paint is too high, it will be laborious to paint, and the formed paint film will be too thick and difficult to dry. .

② Brushing skills. When painting a vertical surface, the final oiling (finishing) should be done from top to bottom; when brushing a horizontal surface, the final oiling should be done in the direction of the light; when painting on the wood surface, it should be done according to the grain of the wood grain Carry out oil treatment; when brushing on the back, the paint should be dipped less, the force should be light, and the paint brush should run slowly; the back to the light can be applied, smoothed and trimmed in one go.

③Maintenance of paint brushes. Before use, the floating bristles on the paint brush should be removed, and then the bristles of the paint brush should be soaked in nitro varnish or shellac paint for a while, and then the bristles should be dried and fixed after being taken out. When using, wash 1/2~2/3 of the bristles before use. The purpose of doing this is to prevent the bristles from falling off and affect the brushing effect.

If the operation needs to be interrupted during the painting process, the paint brush should be soaked in the supporting solvent for preservation, so as to facilitate repainting. After the painting is finished, the residual paint on the paint brush should be scraped off and cleaned, dried and stored for reuse.
