What is the covering power and how is it measured?

Measurement of hiding power
Hiding power (%) = Y black/Y white *100 (%)
100% is complete coverage, i.e. there is no difference in the applied film between the black and white areas.
Testing steps for hiding power
Apply the paint evenly on the hiding power card according to the film coating steps. After the coating film is fully air-dried, use an instrument for objective evaluation. The hiding power value can be measured within 1 second and displayed automatically. The same procedure can be applied to the opacity detection of transparent film and plastic products.
