A disperser, also known as a mixer, is a device used to uniformly mix paints, pigments and other materials and disperse them with a sand mill. At present, the high-speed dispersion effect of the disperser has also been applied to the direct dispersion equipment of ultra-fine pigments.

How the disperser works

The basic structure of the disperser is composed of a motor, a dispersing impeller, and a batching tank.


Motor: The motor of the disperser can rotate the main shaft through variable speed.


Dispersing impeller: There is a dispersing impeller under the main shaft of the dispersing machine. Through the rotation of the main shaft, the dispersing impeller can be driven to rotate at high speed, and it can mix and disperse the materials.


The dispersing impeller under the dispersing shaft is a sawtooth impeller. The circumferential edge of the impeller is staggered up and down to form a zigzag shape, and its inclination angle is 20°~40° from the tangential direction. When the impeller rotates, the edge surface of each tooth can produce a strong impact. The outer edge of the tooth pushes the object to flow outward, forming circulation and shearing force.


High-speed dispersed machine head: It can be adjusted by hydraulic pressure, and can rotate 180°~360° around the column.


During the dispersion process, part of the material near the saw tooth is accelerated and thrown out, and part of the material is decelerated and slides over the inner edge of the tooth to strengthen the shearing effect. The paint circulates to the vicinity of the saw tooth, is continuously accelerated and slid, and is dispersed under the action of viscosity. The holes between the teeth can form air turbidity to increase the dispersion effect of pigment particles.


Batching tank: It is a tool used to hold dispersed materials.

Precautions for the operation of the disperser

1. There are many brands and types of dispersing machines. It is necessary to choose a suitable dispersing machine for grinding and dispersing according to different viscosities and materials.


2. In the high-speed disperser, the rotating speed cannot be increased blindly during the material dispersing process. It is necessary to adapt to the performance of the high-speed disperser according to the composition of different materials and improve the dispersion efficiency.


3. The dispersing time of the dispersing machine should not be too long, generally around 10-15 minutes.


4. If the disperser is used for too long, its impeller will be worn and the dispersion efficiency will be reduced. At this time, the impeller should be replaced at any time.


5. Be careful not to run the high-speed disperser empty. During the operation, start and stop at a slow speed, and scrub the waist after the operation.
