Erosion in the wind and sand environment will cause damage to the engineering structural materials in the regional infrastructure. How to improve the wear resistance and erosion resistance of the coating in the wind and sand environment is of course very important. Under this background, three scholars including Hao Honghong from Inner Mongolia University of Technology studied the erosion behavior and erosion mechanism of steel structure surface coatings under wind and sand environment. 》Introduced the simulated wind-sand environment, and carried out the erosion test on the steel structure coating by using the air-flow sand- carrying jet method, and studied the erosion and wear characteristics, erosion behavior and erosion mechanism of the coating in the wind-sand environment.

The results show that the amount of coating wear increases with the increase of sand dose and erosion speed; the erosion mechanism is that under low-angle erosion, the coating is mainly affected by micro-cutting, while under high-angle erosion, the coating is mainly affected by erosion extrusion . Compression deformation, due to the low strength and good toughness of the coating, its wear is more serious under low-angle erosion.
