1. Principle of Gloss Meter

Gloss meter is a physical quantity that evaluates the ability of the material surface to reflect light under a set of geometrically specified conditions. Therefore, it expresses reflective properties with direction selection. According to the characteristics of the gloss, the gloss can be divided into several categories. The gloss we usually refer to is "specular gloss", so the gloss meter is sometimes called the specular gloss meter. Gloss is completely different from the concept of "smoothness" or "roughness" in the machining industry, which is the evaluation of the slight unevenness of the surface of the material.

Measuring principle: The light source G emits a beam of light through the lens L1 to the measured surface P, the measured surface P reflects the light to the lens L2, and the lens L2 converges the light beam to the photocell located at the light barrier B, and the photoelectric cell performs photoelectric conversion. 3. An overview of the relationship between the grading and measurement of the gloss meter.

       For accurate measurement, my country has established a national benchmark for gloss at the Shanghai Institute of Metrology and Testing Technology (SIMT). Gloss meter manufacturers need to establish a stable, complete and accurate standard device, and the measurement of the standard device needs to come from the national benchmark. The standard then passes the gloss measurement to the working gloss meter. The so-called working gloss meter is the gloss meter with two working plates used by the user. The working gloss meter is divided into two levels, and the accuracy of the first-level gloss meter is higher than that of the second level.

4. Calibration cycle of Glossmeter Glossmeter

       is a measuring instrument, and it should be calibrated regularly according to the usage to ensure the accuracy of the instrument. According to JJG696-2002 "Mirror Mirror Gloss Meter and Gloss Board" National Metrology Verification Regulations. The verification cycle of gloss meter and gloss board is generally not more than 1 year.
