Ambient temperature will have a great influence on the performance of grease:
1) When the ambient temperature exceeds the dropping point of the grease, the grease will be seriously separated, dried up or even melted;
2) When the operating temperature exceeds a certain temperature, it will accelerate the oxidation of the grease, greatly shorten the service life of the grease, or cause the grease additive to decompose severely and cause corrosion, or aggravate the interaction between the additive and the thickener, Cause serious damage to the grease structure.
In many cases, high temperature greases are required, and the following influencing factors need to be considered in this case:
1) Specific ambient temperature and operating temperature;
2) Load and speed;
3) Whether there are water, dust and other pollutants in the use environment;
4) Whether the thermal stability and oxidation stability of the thickener, base oil and additives that make up the grease meet the requirements;
5) The dropping point of the lubricating grease should meet the requirements of use, and it should be carefully considered when selecting a non-dropping point lubricating grease such as bentonite grease;
6) Whether the colloidal stability of the grease can meet the requirements;
7) If it is necessary to change the type of grease, the compatibility between the two types of grease should be considered.
