The electromagnetic flaw Detector can measure the remaining wall thickness of the oil casing, oil casing cracks, corrosion, deformation, dislocation, etc., and is used for the detection of downhole pipe strings in oil and water wells. The paper "Six Functions of Electromagnetic Flaw Detector Logging" by five scholars including Sinopec Henan Oilfield Logging Company and Sinopec Henan Oilfield Research Institute mainly expounds the six functions of electromagnetic flaw Detector for downhole pipe string measurement. Large functions include judging the running depth of the pipe string, identifying downhole tools, identifying the pipe string, sensing casing perforation and corrosion, and inspecting the sidetracking pipe string by using the well temperature curve.

in conclusion

1) The battery flaw Detector can detect different types of casing damage.

2) The electromagnetic flaw Detector can detect the damage of each layer of casing in the multi-layer pipe string, and the detection accuracy of the single-layer pipe string is high.

3) This technology uses the change of casing thickness to quantitatively explain the thickness of the casing, but the thickness reflects the average value of the casing for a week, which is difficult to reflect local damage, and cannot directly monitor the changes in the inner diameter and roundness of the casing. For this purpose, the tool works even better in conjunction with a multi-arm caliper.
