Lu Guozhong, a scholar from the Academy of Building Materials Science, wrote the article "Study on the Crack Resistance of Synthetic Resin Emulsion Laminated Coatings", which mainly introduced the composition of synthetic resin emulsion clad coatings and the method to solve the initial dry cracking resistance of clad coatings . Multi-layer coatings are called relief coatings, and generally consist of three parts: base-layer sealing coatings, main layer coatings, and finish coatings. This article introduces in detail the four major components of raw materials for relief coatings, including acrylic emulsion, fillers and aggregates, additives, and crack-resistant fibers.
In order to solve the initial drying and cracking resistance of multi-layer coatings, the author improves the initial cracking resistance of relief coatings from the selection and configuration of raw materials. Through experimental analysis, the best choice of relief raw materials should be:
1) The excellent film-forming properties and high adhesion of the emulsion help to improve the crack resistance of relief coatings, so it is more satisfactory to use BC-02 emulsion.
2) As filler and aggregate, choose 80~120 mesh snowflake white, 270 mesh quartz sand as aggregate, 325 mesh talcum powder, and 200 mesh wollastonite powder as filler.
3) HEC (low viscosity) is the most satisfactory water retaining agent.
4) When the wood fiber content is 0.7%, the overall performance of the relief coating is better.
