What are the commonly used Anticorrosive coatings?

There are many varieties of coatings, and there are many ways to divide them. Divided according to its application fields, there are automotive coatings, marine coatings, aircraft coatings, household appliance coatings, etc. According to the types of film-forming substances of coatings, there are phenolic resin coatings, alkyd resin coatings, epoxy resin coatings, etc. This division method allows users to understand the essential properties of these products more conveniently.

In terms of steel structures and concrete, the commonly used anti-corrosion coatings mainly include: asphalt paint, alkyd resin coating, epoxy resin coating, polyurethane coating, chlorinated rubber coating and krypton carbon coating. Others such as raw lacquer, amino paint, cellulose paint, silicone paint, etc. are not used much in the field of anti-corrosion. In addition, there are polyurea, high chlorinated polyethylene, chloracyl coatings, unsaturated poly resin coatings, etc., which are also used in anti-corrosion coatings, but they are not widely used mainstream products.

Among all anti-corrosion coatings, epoxy resin coatings are the most widely used, and it can be applied in various complex corrosion environments such as atmospheric environment, immersion environment and buried environment.

Polyurethane coatings, in addition to single-component curing products used for anti-rust primers, are mainly aliphatic polyurethane topcoats in terms of anti-corrosion, which are used on epoxy resin coating systems to play anti-corrosion and decorative functions .

It can be applied and cured at room temperature, and its main function is to be used as a high weather resistance topcoat for steel structures or concrete surfaces in atmospheric environments.
