What is putty?

Putty, a thick paste paint used to smooth out minor surface imperfections before painting. Putty has a wide range of applications in locomotives, automobiles, wood, machine tools and mechanical products.

Putty is a kind of paint used for filling and leveling the surface. It contains a high amount of pigments and fillers. It is ground into a slurry with various paint bases. The paint has good adhesion and has certain mechanical strength. There are many kinds of putty, including alkyd putty, perchlorethylene putty, epoxy cool putty, unsaturated polycool putty (atom ash) and so on.
