There are two main types of acrylic paints that protect and decorate steel structures and concrete surfaces: solvent-based and water-based acrylic paints. Both solvent-based and water-based acrylic paints are suitable for steel structures and concrete surfaces, but acrylic latex paints designed for concrete surfaces are not suitable for steel structures.
Acrylic topcoat mainly refers to the coating variety with thermoplastic acrylic resin as the monomer, and its drying depends solely on the volatilization of the solvent to form a film. Acrylic topcoat has low volume solids (about 35%), one-component construction, and poor solvent resistance. It can be used as an anti-corrosion topcoat for chlorinated rubber, epoxy resin and other coatings, but it is not suitable for alkyd resin surfaces.
Acrylic-amino baking varnish is mainly used as original paint for automobiles, enamel paint for motorcycles and home appliances, base paint in multi-layer metallic flash paint, and varnish for finishing.
Acrylic polyurethane paint is made of a mixture of light-based acrylic resin and diisocyanate containing iso-neonate group. The film brings outstanding film performance characteristics. Acrylic polyurethane is mainly used as a top coat, and has a very wide range of applications in automobiles, wooden furniture, construction and steel structures.
Acrylic latex paint is the main variety in the architectural coatings industry. The main products are pure acrylic, styrene acrylic, silicone acrylic, etc.
Water-based acrylic coatings, here mainly refer to products that can be used for steel structure anticorrosion, mainly water-based acrylic primers and water-based acrylic topcoats.
