The sandability of the paint film refers to the difficulty of sanding the paint film into a flat surface with sandpaper after it dries.
During the paint construction process, except for the last paint, almost every coating film must be polished to ensure that the gap between the paint film (such as between the primer and the putty layer, between the putty layer and the topcoat, between the topcoat and the cover coat) between varnishes) have sufficient adhesion to each other. Therefore, the sandability of the paint film is one of the important indicators reflecting the construction performance of a paint.
When evaluating the abrasiveness, apply the sample evenly on the sample plate with primer, dry it according to the specified time, and wipe it evenly with water sandpaper, fine pumice, etc. When spraying, the paint film should not be too hard or too soft, and should not generate heat, stick to sandpaper, or cause local damage to the paint film. The coating film that meets the above conditions is preferred.
