What is the minimum film formation temperature?

For coating products that use water as a solvent, the minimum film-forming , such as the minimum temperature required to form a transparent continuous coating film after the polymer emulsion is coated. Often expressed in MFT. Below this temperature, the emulsion coating layer is in a turbid state and no longer forms a film. MFT is related to the type, ratio and plasticizing degree of the main film-forming substances of the coating material. It determines the minimum construction temperature of the coating and the length of the construction period in the middle of the year.

Adding film-forming aids, plasticizers, water-soluble resins or changing the polymerization method to the emulsion can change the minimum film-forming temperature of the emulsion.
