Development Process and Current Situation of Gas Detector in CHINA

Gas Detector development process

Combustible Gas Detectors are mainly used to detect gas in mines at first. With the development of petrochemical industry, safety and explosion protection issues have gradually attracted people's attention. According to the survey data of Liaohua, Jinshan, Lanhua and other six petrochemical enterprises by the Petrochemical Corporation, none of the 44 sets of production equipment introduced in my country's petrochemical enterprises before 1958 were equipped with combustible Gas Detectors. The devices introduced after 1964 are equipped with 12 combustible Gas Detectors, and the 12 sets of production devices introduced after 1972 are equipped with 215 combustible Gas Detectors. It can be seen that the importance of combustible gas detection has gradually been recognized abroad.

The combustible Gas Detectors used in my country mainly relied on foreign imports at first. Later, coal mine safety research institutes and some instrument manufacturers cooperated to develop instruments with gas-sensitive semiconductor detection elements, which were gradually used in petrochemical industry. The development of Gas Detectors in petrochemical enterprises initially started from the development of accessories for imported instruments, and then gradually developed into Yanshan Petrochemical Company Instrument Factory, Liaoyang Chemical Fiber Company Instrument Factory, Daqing Petrochemical General Factory Instrument Factory and other manufacturing plants. A Sino-foreign joint venture manufacturing plant.

Development Status of Gas Detector

The development of Gas Detectors in my country started relatively late, and most of the core technologies are monopolized by foreign countries such as Japan, the United States, Switzerland and other countries. The development of my country's sensor industry is backward, and domestic sensor demand, especially high-end demand, is heavily dependent on imports, and there is a huge gap in localization. Sensors have become a bottleneck in the development of my country's Gas Detector industry, resulting in weak competitiveness of domestic enterprises. The biggest competitive pressure for domestic manufacturers comes from foreign companies. Familiar manufacturers of gas detection instruments all have branches in CHINA. Honeywell, Industrial Scientific, Figaro, and Messian have high market positions. This is mainly due to domestic The technical level of the company's products is far lower than that of international companies, and relatively large domestic companies purchase more foreign products. The backward technical level of domestic production enterprises hinders their own development, reduces the competitiveness with international enterprises, and seriously restricts the development of domestic enterprises.

The current research and development and technological development of my country's Gas Detector industry mainly have the following directions

 1. Extend the service life

The sensor is the key factor in the Gas Detector product, but the service life of the sensor is the weakest link of the whole product, so how to extend the service life of the product around improving the service life of the sensor is the most concerned issue of various product manufacturers. Research work in this area has already been initiated.

 2. Enhance anti-interference ability

False positives and false negatives are problems that Gas Detectors need to solve. However, in order to effectively solve this problem, it is necessary to have specialized technical personnel and a large number of experimental work as a guarantee. In this regard, some companies adopt a multi-sensor solution, but this solution cannot solve the problem of product service life. On the technical level, it can not only guarantee the service life of a single sensor, but also ensure the selection of multiple gas sources using a single sensor.

3. Improve product intelligence

The current Gas Detector products can only realize the monitoring of a single household. With the advancement of technology and the requirements of monitoring, future combustible Gas Detectors need to be able to realize network monitoring. It is necessary not only to monitor gas leakage, but also to monitor the performance of the product itself to ensure that all operating products are in good condition.
