Do you know the harm of formaldehyde and PM2.5? How to treat and prevent it?

The hazards of formaldehyde

Formaldehyde is a colorless, irritating gas with a strong odor, and its 35%~40% aqueous solution is commonly known as formalin. Formaldehyde can also come from various chemical and light industrial products such as home improvement adhesives, cosmetics, cleaners, insecticides, disinfectants, preservatives, printing inks, paper, and textile fibers. Formaldehyde can stimulate the skin and mucous membranes. When the concentration of formaldehyde reaches a certain level indoors, people will feel uncomfortable. Formaldehyde with a concentration greater than 0.1mg/m³ can cause red eyes, itchy eyes, throat discomfort or pain, hoarseness, sneezing, chest tightness, asthma, dermatitis, etc. Especially in newly decorated rooms, the formaldehyde content is relatively high, which is the main cause of many diseases. Therefore, it takes several months before the newly renovated houses can be moved in.

Formaldehyde treatment methods

1. Ventilation method

When the concentration of formaldehyde in the indoor air exceeds the standard, please open the doors and windows immediately to maintain the circulation of the indoor air, which can immediately reduce the formaldehyde content in the indoor air and reduce the harm to the human body.

2. Activated carbon adsorption method

Activated carbon is an internationally recognized expert in drug abuse. Activated carbon masks and gas masks all use activated carbon. The physical effect of activated carbon can deodorize and detoxify, without any chemical additives, and has no effect on the human body. Put 1 pack per 5 square meters, and the indoor odor can be basically eliminated within 72 hours. This method can be selected for medium and low pollution, or it can be used in combination with other chemical methods, and the comprehensive treatment effect will be better.

3. Formaldehyde elimination agent removal method

It mainly includes nano-catalysis technology, ozone oxidation technology, negative oxygen ion technology, etc., and is mainly used in airizers and formaldehyde removers.

4. Plant deodorization method

Generally, in the environment where the indoor environmental pollution is mild and moderately polluted, and the pollution value is less than 3 times the national standard, the use of plant purification can achieve better results. Choose and place plants according to the different functions and size of the room. Plants that can absorb formaldehyde, such as Chlorophytum, Aloe, Agave, Sansevieria, etc.; plants that can absorb stupidity, such as ivy, iron tree; plants that can absorb dichloroethylene, such as evergreen, daisy, agave, etc.; Plants that can absorb sulfur dioxide, such as roses, roses, etc.; plants that can absorb dust, such as sweet-scented osmanthus; plants that can kill bacteria, such as mint.

Harm of PM2.5

The smog problem, the air pollution problem... are all inseparable from the problem of excessive content of a kind of particulate matter, that is PM2.5. PM2.5 is particulate matter with an aerodynamic equivalent diameter less than or equal to 2.5 μm in the ambient air. PM2.5 has a small particle size and is rich in a large number of toxic and harmful substances. The greater the value of PM2.5, the greater the degree of air pollution.

PM2.5 can enter the upper respiratory tract, but part of it can be excreted through sputum, etc., and it will also be blocked by the fluff inside the nasal cavity, which is relatively less harmful to human health; while fine particles with a particle size below 2.5 microns have a diameter equivalent to 1/20 the size of human hair, not easy to be blocked. After being inhaled into the human body, it will directly enter the bronchi, interfere with the gas exchange of the lungs, and relieve diseases including asthma, bronchitis and cardiovascular diseases.

We spend most of our day at home, office or other indoor environment. If the indoor air quality is not good, there are countless diseases that can easily be caused. Among them, the mild symptoms include headache, stinging eyes, difficulty breathing, skin allergies, fatigue or vomiting. Research has found that pregnant women, children, office white-collar workers, the elderly, and people with respiratory or cardiovascular diseases are five types of people who are vulnerable to indoor air pollution. Pay more attention in life and maintain a good living environment. Use air quality Detectors to monitor and prevent in time .

Daily prevention of PM2.5

1. A variety of green plants

A variety of green plants on your own balcony, terrace, and indoors. It is recommended that you plant green crown leaf plants such as pothos, evergreen, and tiger Pilan, because of their large leaves and relatively strong adsorption capacity.

2. No smoking indoors

Cigarettes, cigars, and pipes will produce a lot of fine particles belonging to the PM2.5 category when they are not completely burned, so try not to smoke indoors.

3. Air purifier

Generally, air purifiers have obvious removal effect on PM2.5 particles. You can choose a suitable purifier according to the CADR value, where the CADR value is the amount of clean air, which reflects the clean air output by the air purifier after removing solid particles per unit time. The total amount; the higher the value, the higher the purification efficiency of the purifier.

4. Masks

If you need to travel in hazy days, the best way to avoid PM2.5 is to wear a professional PM2.5 mask. Can effectively reduce PM2.5 inhalation.
