Varnish and diluent Color determination

Instruments and reagents

Colorless glass test tube with an inner diameter of 10.75mm±0.05mm and a height of 114mm ± 1mm (Fig. 5-1); iron drill Colorimeter (Fig. 5-2); artificial daylight colorimetric box or wooden dark box , The size is 600mm X 500mm X 400mm (Figure 5-3); solvent for paint ( butylacetate ).

Measurement steps

①Put the sample into a clean and dry test tube, and control the temperature at 23°C±2 °C .

②Put it in a wooden dark box or under artificial sunlight, and compare it with the standard color scale of the standard color iron diamond Colorimeter at a viewing distance of 30-50cm .

③Select two standard color scale solutions that are closer to the color of the sample or one that is the same as the color of the sample.

④ Indicate the grade of the color of the sample by the number of the standard color scale.

Precautions

If the sample is turbid due to low temperature during the test, it can be heated to 50~55°C on a Water Bath , kept for 5 minutes, and then cooled to 23±2°C for measurement.

The test results are as follows:
