During the use of the gas chromatograph, what are the important matters that need our attention. The following article will introduce three important precautions for gas chromatographs: For hydrogen flame ionization Detectors, N2 - H2 - Air flame is required, and after ignition, it should be an oxygen-enriched flame, that is, the air should be excessive, thereby ensuring complete combustion of hydrogen, The good ratio of the three gases is N2:H2 =1:(0.85~1), Air:H2=(6~8):1 or more air. Under this condition, the Detector has high sensitivity and good stability, and the quantitative correction factor is reliable. The purity of the gas source used by the gas chromatograph is required to be above 99.99%. At present, many operators do not pay enough attention to the problem that different Detectors require different gas source purity. During use, the detection limit of the Detector may be high and the baseline may be unstable due to insufficient gas source purity. For example, if hydrogen with a purity of 98% is used as the fuel gas source of the hydrogen flame ionization Detector, when it is used at the 104M Ψ sensitivity level of the Detector, the baseline may fluctuate due to insufficient hydrogen purity (contains flammable gases such as methane). Seriously unstable. If the carrier gas is not pure and contains trace oxygen, it will affect the life of the capillary column.
