The invention relates to functional architectural paint technology, and aims to provide a water-based luminescent colorful paint and a preparation method thereof. The paint is made by mixing the following raw materials in parts by weight: 30-50 parts of protective colloid solution; 15-30 parts of luminescent base paint; 15-30 parts of physically modified synthetic resin emulsion; the protective colloid solution contains 5- 10% aqueous solution of lithium magnesium silicate; physically modified synthetic resin emulsion containing 4% 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol monoisobutyrate and 0.5% alkali-swellable acrylic acid Synthetic resin emulsion. The invention introduces the luminescent powder into the base paint, so that the film-former has the function of long-term stability (more than 6 months) in the water-based paint, and the luminescent time is as long as 12 hours. At the same time, the preparation method of the invention is simple and convenient, and is beneficial to reduce the cost of industrialized production. The preparation method developed by this invention can be used to prepare the coating after grinding, stirring and dispersing the raw materials. The preparation process is simple, easy to implement, and easy to operate, which is conducive to large-scale industrial production and has broad application prospects.
