How to distinguish the authenticity of Norman Tool's RCA wear test tape?

In addition to the RCA abrasion paper tape produced by Norman Tool Company of the United States, many manufacturers have produced nominal RCA abrasion test paper on the market. Hereby solemnly remind that the test results using these papers cannot be guaranteed by Norman Tool Company of the United States, and the most important thing is that there may be serious errors and even losses.

The method to identify whether it is produced by Norman Tool is as follows:

method one:

Genuine RCA abrasion test paper has "Norman Tool USA" printed on the inner core.

Method Two:

Use the original calibration standard plate from Norman Tool Inc. This calibration standard plate has been calibrated on the master machine of Norman Tool, and a certificate is attached to indicate the number of times the paper tape is tested on the calibration standard plate. (When you need to purchase this calibration standard board, you need to provide the serial number of your original RCA machine).

Put the calibration plate at the position of the test sample, and test the number of times the tape wears through the coating on the calibration plate to see if it matches the number of times on the certificate. The test error is allowed within 5%~10%. If the test result of the RCA paper tape exceeds 10% of the mark on the certificate, it can be judged as the RCA abrasion test paper not exported by Norman Tool Company of the United States. (This method is outdated and no longer applicable. It is recommended to get the goods from Norman's authorized formal channels, such as CHINA's general agent - NBCHAO Mall)

RCA Tape Storage Environment Recommendations

*The ideal storage environment for paper tapes is 45% relative humidity.

*Long-term storage at a relative humidity other than 40 - 50% may result in a "temporary" change in paper abrasion levels and should be considered when analyzing test results.

*Continuous exposure to high relative humidity may result in lower RCA wearer RPMs.

*Continuous exposure to lower relative humidity may result in higher RCA Abraser RPMs.

*If the ambient humidity of paper tape storage is not within the required humidity range, the paper should be returned to the required humidity range according to "Suggestions for changing the paper storage environment".

*Acceptable temperature in the testing laboratory is 15 to 25 degrees Celsius (60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit).

*The tape should be tightly wound when not in use.

Suggestions for changing the tape storage environment

*When the paper tape is transferred to an environment with a large temperature difference, keep the paper tape in a sealed bag until the temperature of the paper tape reaches the temperature of the new environment. Once the temperature is equivalent, the paper can be exposed to the new environment. *When the tape is transferred from an uncontrolled environment to a test laboratory environment with a relative humidity of 40 - 50%, equilibrate the temperature as described in the previous item. Before use, expose the paper tape to the test lab environment for 3 to 5 days to ensure the humidity in the lab has time for the paper to adjust.

Transport and long-term storage

*Norman Tool's paper tapes are packaged for warehouse storage as well as air, road and sea shipments. Before opening the package, transfer the paper to the testing laboratory as per "Recommendations for Changing the Tape Storage Environment".

Warranty and shelf life

* The warranty period for Norman Tool tape is 6 months. If stored properly, the shelf life can be as long as several years. Paper should be replaced if it has visibly discolored from prolonged storage, or if it has been damaged by direct contact with water or moisture. Wear quality can be checked by comparing the test results with a new strip using a calibration plate.
