This article mainly introduces how to assemble Norman Tool's manual numerically controlled rca paper tape wear Tester, model RCA7-IBB.
The rca paper tape wear Tester consists of a universal sample holder, a universal clip-type sample holder, a magnifying glass with light, a winding reel device, a level, a revolution counter, a rocking arm, a cam drive shaft screw, a vertical axis fine-tuning screw, a vertical axis Shaft, dust boot, clamp screw on rocker arm, nylon guide wheel frame, O-ring, sample stand, aluminum supply reel, weight loss, manual switch, abrasive paper tape, hex wrench set, pressure Roller, driving roller, 1/8 thick sheet, surface meter and other accessories.
1. Start the motor until the lift rocker arm (H) cam is in the lowest position to allow the cam follower bearing to be in the free position for cleaning.
2. Insert slide pin (F) so that rocker arm rests on flat surface of slide pin (F).
3. Loosen the two thumb clips and copper screws used to fix the vertical shaft (K), move the vertical shaft (K) up and down so that the O-ring is tightly against the sample to be tested, while the rocker arm touches "F" and slides Tie to face.
4. Retighten the brass screws
5. Turn the brass weight trim screw 'J' until there is slight resistance between the slide pin and the balance arm when you screw it in and out. This adjustment results in the rocker arm being parallel to the instrument base while allowing the load to act on the sample.
6. Tighten the screw to fix the vertical axis in the adjusted position.
7. Remove pulley pin (F) under swing arm before run test.
When testing samples of different thicknesses, this adjustment needs to be performed again.
1. The sliding bolt (F) moves to the bottom of the rocker arm, and when the cam is close to the lowest position, the motor is stopped, and the rocker arm is supported on the sliding bolt.
NOTE: There needs to be a gap between the cam and the cam follower shaft, no paper between the rocker arm and the pulley pin.
2. Fix the parallel plate sample on the sample stage (P) with single-sided or double-sided tape, or use the attached clip to fix the sample on the anvil (P). Fix samples with non-parallel surfaces with the roller plate sample holder (A). Fix the round sample with the vise-type sample holder (B) (the flat plate on the roller plate-type sample holder must be removed first). When fixing the sample in the above way, it is necessary to use the surface meter (Z) to adjust the surface to be tested to be in a parallel state.
3. Lower the vertical shaft (K) (please loosen the two fixing screws first), so that the wear test material is tightly located between the O-ring samples, and then tighten the two fixing screws by hand, and move the vertical shaft (K) upwards ), you can gently press the spring before moving, do not press the O-ring or raise the rocker arm.
4. Move the slide pin (F) out from under the swing arm (H).
5. Hold and raise the rocker arm (H) to prevent the paper from contacting the sample, jog the motor until the cam supports the rocker arm (H) without the paper on the sample.
6. The counter (G) returns to zero.
