Precautions for RCA tape testing (inconsistent test results)

Due to the inconsistency of the test results in the process of using the RCA paper tape by the customer, NBCHAO summarized the precautions for the use of the RCA paper tape abrasion test process as follows:

1) It is better to do the comparison test on the same sample, because the samples between different batches of the same product are due to the thickness of the paint film, the position of the test (such as the place close to the corner or the plane), the shape of the product, etc. The difference caused the difference in the test results.

2) How many test points are recommended to be within 2cm of the same sample (but not near the corners)? Because when spraying a sample, the thickness of the paint film will be different at different positions, and the paint film will have different changes due to the problem of surface tension near the corners. Therefore, when selecting the test point, it should be within 2cm apart on the same plane, and the test should not be done near the corner.

3) When testing, it is judged by the same person whether it is worn or not. Since the critical point of wear-through depends on the color difference between the coating and the substrate to determine whether it is worn-through, and the judgment of the color difference will vary from person to person, so it is better to be judged by one person when judging whether to wear-through to reduce errors.

4 ) Is the cross-section of the O-ring of the instrument still round, flattened, hardened, cracked, or used for more than 6 months? If the following four situations occur, please replace the O-ring and test again.

5) Whether the round roller where the O-ring is located is cleaned daily. If it is not cleaned in time, the round shaft may not be able to rotate freely.

6 ) RCA paper tape can only be used once, because the abrasiveness of the paper tape will change after one use.

7 ) The storage conditions of the paper tape and the temperature and humidity of the place where the experiment is performed should be controlled within a certain range. The temperature range is around 45%.

8 ) The weight under the vertical bar needs to be measured regularly with an electronic scale to see if it is 175 grams or 275 grams (according to your settings)

9) Whether the vertical bar of the machine is adjusted vertically by mistake. Because some customers mistakenly adjusted the originally inclined vertical bar to be vertical.

10) It is recommended to use the original machine. If it is a domestically imitated wear-resistant testing machine, inconsistent test results may also occur.
