Whether for industrial use or private users: Users can measure thin layers and small parts with the QNix® 8500 and a pencil probe.
If you are a user and need a finish on metal or synthetic materials, there is no avoiding electroplating techniques. Today, it is widely used in industrial and private applications.
Functional coatings create defined surface properties to protect against corrosion and wear. For example, they have chemical resistance or hardness. They can also serve decorative purposes by creating a high gloss. Quality assurance has a special task here: Because the layers are so thin, their tolerance areas are relatively small.
The coating measuring instrument QNix® 8500 and the pencil probe are especially suitable for the quality inspection of thin layers and small parts.
In order to improve the accuracy of the measurement results, the coating Thickness Gauge needs to be adjusted before use. This adjustment, also known as calibration, adapts the device to the properties of the underlying substrate.
The coating Thickness Gauge QNix® 8500 has various calibration functions to ensure correct measurement results. You can store reapplied calibrations and times using the calibration memory function.
Interchangeable probes provide precise measurement of thin non-ferrous metallic coatings such as chromium, copper and zinc, as well as paint, enamel or synthetic coatings on ferromagnetic substrates.
For small steel parts, such as screws and nuts, only a suitable layer thickness can guarantee good adhesion and adequate corrosion protection. Optimized pencil probe MI Fe500μm reduces destructive measurement effects at edges. Users can measure closer to the edge for precise measurements on small parts.
