Resin percent solids

1. Definition and content

After the resin is heated and baked at a certain temperature, the remaining substance is its solid content, and the ratio of its mass to the sample mass is the solid content.

2. Measurement method

(1) Determination of standard GB 6740-1986 paint volatiles and non-volatiles.

(2) Principle The volatile matter in the composition of the resin is heated and baked at a certain temperature, so that the volatile matter escapes and the residue is left to calculate its solid content.

(3) Operation Put the glass, tinplate or aluminum pan, and glass rod in an oven to dry at the test temperature, then put them in a desiccator cool at room temperature, and accurately weigh the pan with the glass rod. Then spread the bottom evenly over the entire pan. Adjust the oven to the agreed or specified temperature, put the plate with the glass top and the sample into the oven, and place it at the temperature for the agreed or specified time. After heating for a period of time, the surface is removed, the mass is stirred, and then placed back in the oven. When the specified heating time is reached, put the plate and glass rod into the desiccator, cool to room temperature, and then weigh them accurately.
