PT100 temperature transducer data table

A common type of resistance thermometer (RTD) is the PT100. These sensors are a popular choice in many industries, mainly laboratories and industrial processes. The main reason to use them is due to their stability and accuracy. They are good measuring instruments to ensure repeatability. Make sure you get the same result every time you read the temperature.

RTDs are divided into industrial use and general purpose. You can find data sheets for each product type here. Each type has PT100, PT250, PT500 and PT1000.

Pt100 has the following characteristics:

  • Platinum resistant thermometer

  • -200°C to 650°C temperature range

  • ±0.1°C accuracy

  • 100Ω nominal resistance at 0°C

Where should PT100 be used?

The PT100 can be used in any application requiring high measurement capabilities. Due to its construction, it can be used in applications ranging from laboratories to tougher and more demanding environments.

More information

The PT100 essentially falls into the category of Platinum Resistance Thermometers (PRTs). The sensor has a variable resistor that changes resistance based on the temperature around the instrument.
