Talking about the tinctorial strength and covering power of printing ink

Tinting power refers to the ability of a certain pigment to form a strong or weak color after mixing with a reference pigment; while hiding power refers to the ability to evenly coat the surface of an object with a colored opaque paint to cover the background color of the surface of the object to be coated. This article briefly introduces the coloring power and hiding power of printing ink. Whether it is embossing or offset printing, the ink layer printed on paper or other substrates is relatively thin, so the coloring power of the ink is particularly important. The tinting strength of printing ink refers to the performance of imparting its own color to other printing inks or binders, also known as the strength or concentration of printing ink. It is determined by the amount of pigment contained in the ink and the degree of dispersion of the pigment. If the ink contains more pigment and the degree of dispersion is good, the coloring power will be greater. When configuring the printing ink, the coloring power of the printing ink can determine the proportion of the inks of each color. At the same time, the printing ink with high coloring power will use less and dry faster, which is good for improving the quality of printed products and reducing costs.
