QNix ® 9500 Coating Thickness Gauge Measuring Probes FAQ

1. What thickness measuring probes does QNix®9500 have?

The standard probes available for the QNix® 9500 differ in the measurement range and the substrate to be measured. The Fe probe is suitable for iron and steel measurement, the NFe probe is suitable for non-ferrous metal measurement, and both probes are available.

The following Fe and dual standard probes are available for the integrated QNix® 9500:

Measuring range for iron: 1.25 mm and 3 mm

Fe / NFe dual function measuring range:

Measuring ranges for iron: 1.25 mm, 3 mm and 5 mm

2. How to replace the probe of split type Thickness Gauge?

Quick and easy: Turn the probe lock to the left to open it, then pull the probe with the probe holder out of the handheld Thickness Gauge.

Plug a new probe or probe adapter cable with probe holder into the handheld. Rotate to the right to close the probe cover.

Tip: All standard probes of the QNix® 9500 can also be used in the modular QNix® 5500. 

3. How to use the probe adapter cable?

a) The probe adapter cable can basically be used with the modular version of the QNix® 9500.

b) Remove the probe with the probe holder from the handheld or box

c) Secure the probe to the adapter cable using the probe holder

d) Connect the probe adapter cable to the handheld Thickness Gauge.

4. Why is there a digital copy of the test certificate on the probe?

A digital copy of the current test certificate located on each probe allows you to integrate it into reports using the QN9 software.
