The paint that uses dry oil as the main film-forming substance is called grease paint, also known as oil paint.
Grease paint includes varnish, thick paint, oily blended paint, etc.
The paint film of grease paint is flexible, has good adhesion (testing instrument: adhesion Tester), has good atmospheric resistance, is not easy to powder and crack, and is cheap and easy to apply. However, the grease paint dries slowly, its mechanical properties are not high, it cannot be sanded and polished, and its hardness and light selection are not satisfactory.
Grease paint consumes a large amount of vegetable oil, and its performance is not comprehensive enough, so its proportion in paint has gradually decreased.
Clean oil is made from refined drying oil (tung oil, linseed oil, catalpa oil, etc.), adding an appropriate amount of solvent and drier. The coating film of clear oil is flexible, but it dries slowly and the hardness is very low, so it can only be used to paint general objects with low quality requirements to play a waterproof and moisture-proof role. Its main uses are:
It can be painted or brushed with white cloth wrapped in cotton (cloth ball) or paint brush or clear oil to wipe or brush the surface of the object for 1-2 coats. If the surface of the wood needs to be grounded, first use the pigment to make a paste to wipe the base, after it dries, sand it with fine sandpaper to remove the ash, and then apply 1-2 coats of clear oil. If it is constructed in winter or the dryness decreases due to long-term storage, an appropriate amount of drier can be added to accelerate its drying.
The amount of clear oil is 2o%~4o% of the weight of the thick paint, and it is used after mixing thoroughly.
The amount of clear oil is 25%~50% of the weight of the red tannin powder. When preparing, slowly add the red tannin powder to a small amount of clear oil to thicken the paste, then add the rest of the clear oil, mix thoroughly and filter before use.
