What is a bubble viscometer

The bubble viscometer is an instrument that uses the rising speed of the bubbles of the measured fluid in the tube to measure its viscosity. It is also an instrument for measuring kinematic viscosity.

The bubble viscometer is an instrument with a long history, which has been used by the paint industry for a long time, mainly for measuring transparent fluids. This instrument also cannot measure opaque, non-Newtonian fluids with yield values.

A Gardner-Holdt viscometer is typical of this type of viscometer.

Figure 19-11 illustrates the measurement steps of the Gardner Viscometer.

Figure 19-12 is the relationship between the Gardner viscosity symbol and the kinematic viscosity (Stokes).
