How to prepare film templates?

When inspecting the performance of the paint film, it is first necessary to prepare a complete sample of the paint film. Only when the sample is handled well can it truly reflect the performance of the paint. Methods as below:

(1) Sample material

Commonly used are metal, glass, wood, asbestos cement and so on.

(2) Surface treatment

①Tinplate and thin steel plate can be polished with o-number sandpaper first to remove rust or plating layer, then wipe it with cotton yarn, and then wipe it with absorbent cotton dipped in solvent (pine water or xylene) until the cotton ball is no longer stained , dry for later use.

②The glass plate can be washed with hot soapy water first, then rinsed with clean water and wiped dry. Wipe it with absorbent cotton dipped in solvent before painting, and dry it for later use.

③ Before use, the duralumin board should be wiped clean with absorbent cotton dipped in solvent, and then dried for later use.

④ The surface of the board can be polished with No. 1 alumina emery cloth, and wipe off the dirt for later use.

⑤ The tinplate plate used in the heat resistance test needs to be baked at 400~500°C for half an hour before grinding to oxidize the tin coating, take it out, and then treat it with method ① after cooling.

⑥The asbestos cement board is polished with emery cloth to remove oil stains and floating ash, soaked in water for several hours until the pH value is close to 1o, and then dried for later use.

(3) Painting method

Dilute the paint sample to an appropriate viscosity or the viscosity specified in the product standard, filter it, and then paint it according to the method specified in the product standard. The general painting methods are as follows:

①Brush method

② Shouting method

⑧ Dip coating method

④Pouring method

⑤ scraping method

(4) dry exercise

After painting, it should be dried according to the method specified in the product standard, such as natural drying or air drying, and the drying time. The tests can only be done after the coating film is completely dry.
