The ink should have good drying performance. If the ink dries too fast or too slow, it will affect the printing process control and printing quality. There are many factors that affect the drying performance of water-based plastic gravure printing ink. The author designs the drying performance of water-based plastic gravure printing ink by changing the type of thinning resin, the ratio of co-solvent (alcohol) to water in the thinning solvent, and some additives. Ink samples were formulated and prepared, and the influence of various factors on ink drying performance was investigated to obtain an ink formulation with good drying performance and other printing performance.
AZR acrylic resin is used for dispersing resin; 2661-86-2p, 2661C-1, 60-4, 63-1 are used for thinning resin; deionized water is used as main solvent, and alcohol is used as auxiliary solvent; benzidine yellow is used for pigment; Use 760 for dispersant; 810 for defoamer; 245 for wetting agent; SE2 and thickener ATX-01 for amine neutralizer.

Basket sand mill is used for base ink dispersion; mechanical agitator is used for ink dispersion; suitability Tester is used for proofing; rheometer is used for viscosity measurement; and scraper Fineness Meter is used for initial drying and thorough drying measurement.
Base ink preparation: According to a certain pigment-base ratio, mix pigments, dispersing resins, deionized water and additives, pre-disperse with a mechanical stirrer, and place them on a Grinder for grinding and dispersion. Base ink thinning: according to the gravure ink’s viscosity requirements, add the thinning resin, cosolvent and additives to the base ink, and stir evenly with a mechanical stirrer.
Drying speed test : According to the national standard GB-T 1321. 5-91 for testing ink drying, use the indentation method and use the scraper Fineness Meter to test, and get the initial drying (mm) and thorough drying ( s).
Formulation test design : Orthogonal design was adopted to design four-factor and four-order orthogonal experiment schemes to explore the influence of thinning resin on ink drying.
