What is fire resistance?

The property of the coating to resist or delay burning is called flame resistance, which is the main indicator for testing fire-resistant coatings.

The flame resistance of the coating mainly depends on the film-forming substances, pigments, fillers and so on. Commonly used flame-resistant film-forming substances are: organic chlorine-containing polymers, such as chlorinated rubber, perchlorethylene, etc.; inorganic film-forming substances, such as water glass, silica sol, etc. Commonly used fillers are: antimony trioxide, asbestos powder, foundry, diatomaceous earth, kaolin, mica powder, talcum powder, titanium dioxide, etc.
