Paint tone means that the viscosity of the paint has thickened during storage, but it has not completely deteriorated. The reasons for the thickening are as follows:
(1) Asphalt paint diluted with No. 200 solvent gasoline will change the tone of the asphalt paint, so it can be diluted with turpentine or =toluene.
(2) Amino baking varnish is easy to change after being stored for a long time, so at least 25% butanol can be used to dilute it in the solvent.
(3) The lid of the alkyd paint is not tightly closed after use. .
(4) The paint bucket leaks air, liquid, solvent volatilization, and the storage temperature is too high or too low to change the paint. In order not to thicken the paint liquid, the paint phase must be tightly covered, the leaky bucket must be replaced, and the storage environment must be kept at 2o ℃ or so.
(5) There are other reasons for the paint to be changed: the acid value of the paint is too high, and the saponification reaction with the basic pigment occurs, and the storage temperature is too high, which accelerates the polymerization of the paint base. Thickening can be avoided or slowed down by adding corresponding solvents and lowering the storage temperature.
