Why does the film produce orange peel and how to prevent it?

Orange peel is a kind of many semicircular protrusions that appear on the surface of the paint film, just like the disadvantages of orange peel. The reason is that there are too many low-boiling point solvents in the paint, which volatilize too quickly, and there is no time for leveling to form a vortex. Nitro paint is the most common. In addition, because the viscosity of the spray paint is too high, the pressure is high, the nozzle is too small, the spray distance is too large, or the temperature during construction is too high or too low, and the surface of the object to be coated is not smooth, it will cause the paint film to be too late to level and produce orange.

Prevention method: A small amount of solvent with a higher boiling point, such as cyclohexanone, can be added to the solvent. For nitro paint and perchlorethylene paint, it can reduce the viscosity of the paint. When spraying paint, you should pay attention to the viscosity of the spray paint, control the pressure, the size of the nozzle, and adjust the spray distance at any time.
