A densitometer is a device used for the optical density measurement of CMYK values.
Densitometers measure under different conditions, therefore, as with the previously described devices, it is recommended to calibrate the device under the conditions of use.
The basics of calibrating a densitometer are basically the same as Spectrophotometer s and Colorimeters. It is based on comparing the values measured by the device with the certified values of the reference standards used in the calibration.
Calibration certificates include the corrections obtained for each CMYK value and their extended uncertainties.

The following example shows how the measurements made on the device should be corrected.
