Test method for roll hardness

Significance of Hardness Tester in manufacturing

For some parts that have not been heat treated, in order to avoid mixing and wrong materials, hardness testing should be carried out. In the process of processing, in order to avoid the performance change caused by annealing caused by excessive cutting process, hardness test is also applied for supervision.

Since there is a certain correspondence between metal hardness and strength, hardness testing has broader practical significance.

Roll hardness test method

There are many types of rolls used for rolling of various metal materials. According to the hot and cold state of the rolled material, it can be divided into cold rolling and hot rolling; according to the material of the roll, it can be divided into forged steel, cast steel, cast iron roll, etc.

According to the different hot and cold processing methods and the softness and hardness of the rolled metal, there are different requirements for the surface hardness of the roll. The specific hardness range is marked on the mechanical drawing of the roll production.

Since the roll is generally relatively large, it is inconvenient to sample and test on the roll. The hardness test of the roll generally stipulates the Shore hardness test method.
