Pressure-sensitive tape is composed of three parts: substrate, adhesive (sometimes called adhesive for convenience), and release agent (also called release agent). The specific constituent materials are as follows.
1. Substrate
(1) Paper quality: kraft paper, crepe paper and other paper.
(2) Cloth quality: artificial cotton, cotton, synthetic fiber and other fabrics or non-woven fabrics.
(3) Plastic film: cellophane (cellophane), polyvinyl chloride, polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, cellulose acetate, polyimide, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc.
(4) Metal: copper foil, aluminum foil, lead foil, etc.
(5) Rubber film: natural rubber, butyl rubber, neoprene or silicone rubber , etc.
(6) Others: foam and various composite materials.
2. Adhesive
(1) Synthetic resin adhesives: polyvinyl resins such as rubber, cellulose, polyacrylate, and silicone rubber.
(2) Tackifier: rosin, rosin ester, hydrogenated rosin, polyterpene resin, various petroleum resins, xylene resin, epoxy resin or phenolic resin.
(3) Plasticizers: phthalates, chlorinated paraffins or other oils.
(4) Antiaging agents, stabilizers, crosslinking agents, colorants and fillers, etc.
3. Stripping agent
Usually silanes or other specially formulated treatments are used.
