When oxygen is reduced by the working electrode through the diaphragm (that is, it is reduced at the anode ) , a diffusion current proportional to the oxygen concentration will be generated. By measuring this diffusion current, the concentration of dissolved oxygen in water can be obtained. An instrument that measures dissolved oxygen in water is called a Dissolved Oxygen Meter. The classification standards of polarographic diaphragm electrodes and galvanic diaphragm electrodes are determined according to the concentration.
Steps
Install the electrode holder and the base through the knob
Lock the dissolved oxygen plug and temperature plug of the dissolved oxygen electrode with the groove of the instrument plug in sequence
Power on: the instrument is automatically powered on when it is connected to the power cord
Click the "DO" button to enter the dissolved oxygen operation interface
Unscrew the cap of the dissolved oxygen electrode, and wipe the metal electrode with filter paper. When the metal electrode is oxidized, it needs to be polished with sandpaper. Fill the cap about two-thirds full and flick it with your finger to remove air bubbles.
After tightening the cap of the pen, wipe it with filter paper.
Place the electrode vertically on the electrode stand, and click the "Calibrate" button after standing still for 15 minutes.
When the red dot on the screen turns into a green dot, it means that the calibration of the instrument is completed, click the "OK" button.
