The Elcometer 266 revolutionises the porosity of high Voltage DC test coatings, making inspection safer, easier and more reliable than ever before.
The Elcometer 266 Die-Sinking Leak Detector can be used to test the porosity of coatings up to 7mm (275mils) thick, making it ideal for the inspection of coatings on pipes and other protective coatings. This leak Detector has a built-in Voltage calculator that determines and sets the correct test Voltage based on the test standard and the thickness of the coating being tested.
The Voltage calculator function automatically sets the Voltage based on the coating thickness value
Adjustable Voltage
0.5kV - 1kV: 50V intervals
1kV - 30kV: 100V intervals
Double safety switch on the handle to avoid accidental switching (only gray/orange probe handle)
The internal Voltage calibrator ensures that the selected Voltage is the test Voltage
LEDs on the visual and audible alarm handle and loud alarms provide a clear indication that a hole has been detected
To change the maximum Voltage range, select a different handle; 5kV, 15kV or 30kVDC or 30kV DC continuous
A variety of probe brushes and springs are available

1. Voltage calculator The Voltage calculation function automatically sets the Voltage based on the coating thickness value. With a built-in Voltage calculator, there's no need to look at the conversion table. Enter the test standard and coating thickness and the instrument will automatically calculate the correct Voltage. | 2. Adjustable Voltage Adjust the Voltage with a keypad without a screwdriver: 50V at 0.5kV - 1kV intervals, 100V at 100V intervals from 1kV to 30kV. Use the keypad on the instrument to adjust the Voltage, no screwdriver required. For semi-conductive coatings, the current sensitivity can be preset manually or automatically adjusted by the instrument. | 3. Internal voltmeter/Voltage inspection device The internal voltmeter/Jeep verifier ensures that the selected Voltage is the test Voltage. In-house calibrated Jeep inspectors and closed-circuit systems ensure that the test Voltages are accurately tested and continuously controlled, regardless of climatic conditions. |

4. Interchangeable probe handles Interchangeable probe handles: 5kV, 15kV and 30kV DC (DC) versions are available. | 5. Audible and visual alarms Audible and visual alarms are generated when cracks are detected. The handle has a bright LED indicator and a loud alarm that clearly indicates that the instrument is working (red light) or that a spark has been detected (blue light). | 6. a battery pack The battery pack can be charged inside or outside the main unit for continuous use. The rechargeable battery pack can be charged inside or outside the main unit. The battery can be drained in 4 hours and can be used continuously for up to 40 hours after each charge. |

7. Universal probe adapter Enables the Elcometer 266 to be used with all major EDM accessories. | 8. Screen display The large backlit display is clearly visible even in dark environments. When a crack is detected, the background light also flashes | 9. an auxiliary handle The optional handle is suitable for two-handed operation and remains safe. Suitable for testing pipes and sink floors. |
There are double safety switches on the handle to avoid misstarting. A two-stage safety switch ensures that the handle of the 266 is powered off when it is not in the hand.
Special threaded handle for added protection, while optional handle for two-handed operation The widened threaded handle protects the user and is specially designed to meet EN61010 standards. Safe high-Voltage testing is achieved.
The speakers of the instrument make a clear ticking sound, indicating that there is Voltage at the handle.
When an electric spark is detected, a loud alarm sounds. The alarm volume can be adjusted to ensure that it can be heard even in noisy environments.
